Did you know that fifty percent of people over 50 are single and experience a significant amount of loneliness? While dating sites for 50+ do exist, the need for social companionship outside of dating is greatly underserved. Stitch Co-Founder Marcie Rogo tells KTVU, Made in the Bay, why she helped create a site that connects the baby-boomer generation for companionship, including romance, friendship, group activities, and travel opportunities. Here’s an excerpt:
“I realized that no one in tech was doing something that could connect people at this age, they were all focused on people like me in their 20’s and 30’s and it felt really unfair and I thought, ok well then I’m gonna do this for the people in my life that I care about… a lot of people that are in this stage (are) not being served by the products out there.”
