From romantic relationship sites to casual meetups, meeting online has taken over the way we socialize. Most of the sites are aimed at a younger audience and very few cater to those 50+. Launched in 2014, Stitch helps seniors find companionship and romance. Stitch Co-Founder, Marcie Rogo speaks to Tech 50+ about an important and unique feature that Stitch offers over other social sites. Here’s an excerpt:
The founders of Stitch have created other social Web sites, Tapestry and Connect Around, both aimed at addressing the problem of social isolation for older adults. When Tapestry acquired ConnectAround about two years ago, founders Andrew Dowling and Marcie Rogo decided there was still something missing. While their users were better connected with their families online through their sites, many were still isolated and lonely, needing real companionship. The result is Stitch.net.
